GLOM SPECTACULAR ~ SHOW RULES ~ 2007 ~


  1. This show is sanctioned by ADGA and their rules shall govern.

  2. The Senior doe show is sanctioned for the following breeds:  Alpines, LaManchas, Nigerian Dwarfs, Nubians, Oberhasli, Saanens, Toggenburgs, and Recorded Grades.  The Junior doe show is sanctioned for the following breeds:  Alpines, LaManchas, Nigerian Dwarfs, Nubians, Oberhasli, Saanens, Toggenburgs, and Recorded Grades.  This will be the order of show.  The Senior doe and Junior doe shows are sanctioned separately.  There will be no buck show.

  3. No animals may be penned in the barns or entered in the books after 11 P.M. at night or before 6:30 A.M. from May 23rd through May 25th.  If you do pen animals after 11 P.M., you may be required to move and clean the pens you were in.

  4. Entry fee is $4.50 per animal per show ($4.00 per animal per show if entering 10 or more animals per day) if received by May 10, 2008.  After May 10, the entry fee is $6.00 per animal per show.  There is also a $4.00 pen fee per pen per your stay.  Pens are 4’ x 7’ and you must bring your own hay feeder.  Trailer animals will be charged pen fees. NO REFUNDS—NO CLEAN-UP!!!  Send entries and fees to Linda Kast, Secretary.

  5. The base date for the show is May 24, 2008, the first day of the show.

  6. The original registration certificate is required for all animals 6 months of age and older.  Animals under 6 months of age may be shown under a STAMPED duplicate application.  This MUST be shown to the secretary before the start of the show.  All animals over 6 months of age that are entered in the show must have their complete information, i.e. class number, name of animal , registration number, breed, birth date and tattoos listed on the entry blank when sent in or the exhibitor WILL BE CHARGED LATE FEES.

  7. All animals from out of state are required by Michigan to have an interstate health certificate.

  8. All animals entering the show grounds will be subject to a health examination prior to the start of the show each day.  Any animal exhibiting signs of a possible contagious disease will be barred from the show.  The remaining animals that were transported with the suspect animal could also be banned if the health and well being of the other animals would be jeopardized.  If there is a dispute regarding the health check, a check by a veterinarian, at the owners expense, will make the final decision.

  9. Any exhibitor not acting in an honorable manner will be asked to leave the fairgrounds and will forfeit their rights at this show.

  10. The official judging will begin at 8:00 A.M. both days.  All animals must be in place prior to this time.  The Futurity will be judged at 7:30 A.M. on Sunday.

  11. No horned does will be allowed and no bucks are allowed in any of the barns.

  12. There will be no pre-show milkout.

  13. No dogs will be allowed in any barns or any show facilities.

  14. Animals from outside Michigan must meet the requirements for entering Michigan.  For up-dates and clarification, contact your veterinarian or the Michigan Dept. of Agriculture (517) 373-1077.  Identifying tattoos and corresponding registration papers are required on each animal for scrapies.  NAIS participation is on a voluntary basis for goats in 2008.  Check the May/June issue of the MDGS GoatNews or the MDGS Website for updates.

  15. Goat Lovers of Michigan (GLOM) and the Shiawassee County Agricultural Society nor any iIndividual associated with this show will be held responsible for loss, damage, or accident to any person, animal or property.  All animals are entered at the owner’s risk.                      Entry form must be signed in order to show animals.
