I would like to welcome you to the Michigan Dairy Goat Society web site.  Another Spring Goat Day has come and gone.  Lots of effort was put into the organization of the annual event, but without those that attended it would not have been a success. 

I’d like to express my appreciation to Dr Ralph Zimmerman for coming up from New Mexico to be our lead speaker for the day.    Dr Zimmerman spoke most of the day addressing several topics that were of interest to many of the individuals in attendance. 

We are looking ahead to the 2011 National Convention, which MDGS will be sponsoring in Grand Rapids.  There will be a lot of work to be done over the next few years lining up corporate sponsors for the event.  If any of you have an idea of a company that should be contacted for sponsorship let one of the board members know.

The MDGS Annual Show will be the weekend of June 14 and 15 at  the Ionia County Fairgrounds which will include an Alpine Specialty Show.  MDGS will also be hosting the second ADGA sanctioned youth show in conjunction with the annual show.  If anyone is interested in helping sponsor the youth show please contact Dorthea Williams to help with sponsorships.

I’d also like to wish everybody good luck with the kidding season.
